“Simpson College is a small (1500 student), private, liberal arts college located in Indianola, IA. It is 15 minutes south of Des Moines, Iowa. The small, park-like campus is small enough where the professors know your name, yet has the facilities of a large campus. The academic requirements of Simpson are high, but the College annually awards an average of $40 million in grants and aid. That $40 million is divided among and average of 99% of students in any given year. Awards can be quite substantial. The swimming and diving teams compete and practice at the YMCA, located less than 2 miles north of campus. The pool was opened in August of 2013 and has 8 lanes, H-Bar Starting blocks with wedges, and a video scoreboard. The pool is geo-thermally heated, and uses ultra-violet filtration for a crystal clear water quality. Simpson is coached by Tom Caccia. After more than 30 years experience as a high school coach, Caccia is now directing Simpson. A four time Wisconsin High School coach of the year, Simpson is rapidly growing in size and numbers and set 40 school records in 20 different events during the 2013-14 season.”
