May 17, 2006 The Simpsons Wrestling Review In the end, wit and charm are the two most redeeming features of The Simpsons Wrestling, as it simply can't survive on its gameplay alone. Apr 13, 2001 the Simpson's are the best on t.v. But i can't believe they could release such a bad game. I realise that this was made back in 2001 but back then they still had better graphics than this. They don't look like they are fighting, they look like they're having a cat fight. The game play is terrible and the special moves aren't so special as they don't have much affect on your opponent. The Simpsons Wrestling is an all-out, humorous 3-D wrestling/fighting game featuring the characters and locations of the popular TV satire The Simpsons. Players take on the identity of their favorite Simpsons characters as they battle their way to the ultimate title-Champion of Springfield.

Developer: Big Ape Productions This game has unused areas. |
The Simpsons Wrestling is a licensed wrestling game with bad graphics and mindless button mashing. Its only saving grace is the voice acting.
To do: Examine this compendium of audio clips. |
Unused Video
DUMMY.STR is the FOX Interactive logo, albeit with a watermark for the shareware version of VideoFramer.
Unused Levels
To do: See if there are any other unused oddities relating to this level such as music. |
There is a full but unused arena based on Springfield Elementary School. It can be seen by swapping the text krusty.s3d with school.s3d in the BIG.BIN file, which will cause the game to load the school level instead of the Krustylu Studios level.
There is also an arena with a picture of the developers and mascot of Big Ape Productions as Simpsons characters. It can be loaded with the same method as the aforementioned level but with the text bigape.s3d.
Development Text
There are two .txt files with short development notes, titled DUMMY.TXT and DUMMY2.TXT.
File | Text |
---|---|
DUMMY.TXT | Inserted to mark end of SLUS file. |
DUMMY2.TXT | To comply with TRC 4.1 |
Build Date
Pause the game and press Square, Circle, L1, R1 to see a build date, which is the same in both versions of the game.
